NRES Considers Enacting Carbon Emission Legislation

Kuala Lumpur, May 16 — The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) is actively exploring the need to introduce specific carbon emission-related laws as part of the second phase of amendments to the Environmental Quality Act. This move follows proposals from the Malaysian Bar Council, aiming to bolster Malaysia’s environmental governance.
