Global plastics production doubled in the past two decades to reach 460 million tonnes.

Global plastic waste generation more than doubled to 353 million tonnes. Thailand’s petrochemical sector is the largest in the Southeast Asian region and the 16th largest in the world. Asia is also responsible for over 80 per cent of marine leakage and 8 of the top 10 contributing countries are from this region, with Thailand ranking number 6.

In line with the government’s target towards a Zero Waste Nation, it has become more than ever pressing for everyone to build upon the expertise of all stakeholders in this ecosystem on the development of plastic recycling industry.

Apex is organising the ASEAN Circular Plastics Summit 2023 on the 29th-30th March 2023, virtually and on-site in Bangkok, Thailand.
