Johor’s Maharani Energy Gateway Attracts RM9.5 Billion Investment for Green Energy Expansion
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 – The Maharani Energy Gateway project, a joint venture between Maharani Energy Gateway Sdn Bhd (MEG) and China Energy International Group (CEIG), is set to receive a significant investment of US$2 billion (RM9.5 billion). The project, located in Muar, Johor, aims to propel Malaysia’s green energy initiatives and enhance trade and investment ties with Chinese companies. The collaboration involves the construction of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant, a green hydrogen plant, and a green ammonia plant. Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, highlighted that this initiative aligns with
