Malaysia Accelerates Push for Net Zero by 2050

Putrajaya, June 15, 2024 – The Malaysian government is ramping up efforts to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. This commitment was reinforced at the recent National Climate Change Action Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, outlined the plan to fast-track key initiatives like the New Industrial Master Plan, National Energy Transition Roadmap, and Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap.
