Malaysian Government Grants Six-Month Extension for Lynas’ C&L Operations

Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the Australian rare earth mining firm, has been granted a six-month extension by the Malaysian government to carry out cracking and leaching (C&L) activities until December 31, 2023. The decision was made to avoid any disruption to the global supply chain of rare earth materials, according to Minister  of Science, Technology and Innovation, Chang Lih Kang. He further stated that the extension will provide Lynas with ample time to complete its C&L plant in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, which is still under construction.
